Sapient Global Markets

Jan 2013 - Present

Fulltime - Sr. Interactive Developer

  • Morgan Stanley Advisor Applications: At Morgan Stanley I worked on an internal web application for Financial Advisors. The application was meant for users to create queries, save them to a dashboard screen from where they could access each query and view tabular data of the results. I worked with the UX and Design team to understand functionality requirements along with design requirements and was responsible for developing the front end for the Query Builder using AngularJS as the JS library and the Dashboard screens including the functional and the design requirements.
  • Provided sales support by re-styling existing responsive web applications to be pitched to other clients. This included taking an existing web application, understanding the code and modifying the HTML, CSS styles (using SASS) and Javascript to conform to the new style.
  • Started an interactive developers community at Sapient NYC where interactive developers would meet once every month and take turns on presenting and educating the others on a topic of interest. I initiated with the presentation of Node modules and Node Package Manager (NPM), concentrating specifically on Yeoman, Grunt and Bower.
  • Tech stack used: AngularJS, SASS, Twitter Bootstrap, Grunt, Bower, Yeoman, Karma, Git, NPM, Node Modules, REST, JSON, Sambuca (Morgan Stanley Internal JavaScript framework)

Fulltime - Sr. Designer / Front End Developer

  • Wire-framed and coded multiple product landing pages using dynamic images and from sources such as parsed XML feeds, MySQL database and internal PHP frameworks.
  • Contributed to the development of AdBucks in Kohana (PHP MVC framework). I worked on developing different parts of the GUI such as the file uploader, locking/unlocking mechanism to lock user access and enable/disable user ability in real time. These features used extensive Javascript, jQuery, AJAX and JSON. I also wrote the supporting PHP code for execution with the front end code.
  • Developed SEO friendly responsive tours, using Bootstrap framework, PHP backend and jQuery. These tours out-performed the ones previously being run.
  • Wrote a reporting app that interfaces with the Quickbase API. The app collects performance reporting data from a MySQL database via multiple MySQL queries through PHP, processes and generates CSV from the collected data and writes to Quickbase using the Quickbase API and a cron, hourly.
  • Created a web app for designers to generate content delivery network (CDN) file URLs from filenames. These URLs were then archived using JSON cache files generated by PHP. The app used these cache files to create a banner archive for every advertiser and date.
  • Built iframe generation tool for media buyers using Javascript, jQuery and PHP. The tool allowed media buyers to select different choices and generated an iframe embed code by passing in different query string parameters to the iframe source attribute.
  • Analyzed banner performance statistics and designed static, animated GIF, jQuery and video banners by using a combination of HTML, jQuery, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Flash to promote multiple products based on the performance on the ad spots.

Downgram is a web app to download your Instagrams Downgram is a web app that allows users to select and download their Instagrams in a zip archive.

  • Wrote a PHP backend using an open source Instagram API library. The script fetches and processes the images by adding copyright meta data into the file and then generates a zip archive.
  • Coded the front-end using jQuery to update the DOM depending on user selection. Front end code also handles pagination and sends image selection post data to the backend for processing.
  • Backend also includes a MySQL database which logs statistics for downloads per user per day.
  • Downgram was featured on Abduzeedo sites of the week section and was showcased on Lifehacker Japan .

  • Created an iPhone interface using iframe and jQuery to switch screen horizontal and vertical.
  • Wrote a PHP script which generates and embeds HTML, CSS and Javascript code on the client side using a javascript “script” tag including a key.
  • The PHP script uses a MySQL database to determine the elements to include in the embed code an validates referrer domain and the key.
  • I created the site on a domain with good SEO keywords and used SEO optimization techniques. This site gets about 1900 visitors/day consistently with 70% users from organic searches for the keyword "iphone simulator".
